Chapter 3 Finances
My desire is to always remember that the Lord is the provider for our family. My prayer is that God will keep my husband in a godly mindset regarding our finances. My husband handles all our finances and though he shares things with me I don't really have the stress of paying bills etc. It was difficult to give up at first, but God really uses it to help me truly trust my husband, even in areas that it's difficult that I want to have control over.

It is so very true that nothing puts more pressure on a marriage than finances. My husband and I have been through good and bad times financially. I have learned from both...in the good times we must remember to share our blessings and to not be selfish with our money, to give back. In the bad times, we must remember that God provides to those who help others. So, no matter how hard times are, we must still give back knowing that God will take care of us. I pray that my husband and I see eye to eye in regards to how our money is spent and for us to be good stewards of the blessings that we have received. Also, sometimes we get carried away with wanting worldly things...and we are both guilty of this. Please pray that we may have an eternal perspective on life that carries over to our finances.
Having been raised by a single mother, I have learned from a very young age to depend on God, He is ultimately our provider. Now that I'm married, I pray to God Travis & I both are in agreement in how we handle God's money, especially being faithful with tithing and giving to the poor.
I pray to God that if it is in His will for Travis or I to manage finances to make it very clear which one of us should do it; we are both so used to doing what we want with our money, now we have to compromise and be good stewards of God's provision.
I see God's hand moving in our finances, He has blessed me with good job despite the economic turmoil we are experiencing. Travis at this time is not so happy with his job, and I pray to God to open and close doors to guide him where He wants him at. May God continue to sharpen his skills, gifts and talents so that Travis is ready for God's plans/purposes in his life.
Thank you Lord for you are a faithful God and your right hand while continue to guide us through trouble times.
Remind us Father that You are our provider and the windows of heaven will pour blessings beyound our imagination as we continue to be faithful and good stewards of what you give us.
Amen.
